Amazing piece of art. Antique spun Brittania metal silver plated pre-turn of the century. 1860s by my guess due to the insignia of Middletown Plate Co on the bottom of the creamer dish.
Little is available of this stamp. Future stamps seemed smaller, thinner. More refined, with model numbers always outside of the insignia. Usually additional text as well like "Hard White Metal".
All this before the company changes directions at the turn of the century.
Fair tarnish among the piece. However the lid of the sugar dish shows what can be done after just 5 minutes of a simple tooth paste rub.
Barely magnetic but fairly dull in sound. The Middletown Plate Company is known for its silver plated Meriden style spun Brittania metal before it was later divided or merged into various companies. International Silver Co, Meriden Brittania Co, Middletown Silver Co, Wilcox Silver Plate Co, Superior Silver Co.
